This summer camp packing list is designed specifically for Carlingford Adventure Centre’s residential and day camps for kids aged 6–17, ensuring your child is ready for everything from kayaking to night games. Helping your child have an unforgettable, stress-free week at Carlingford Adventure Centre starts with smart packing. Here’s a parent-friendly checklist tailored for their summer camps (junior & senior, day or residential), ensuring they’re prepared—and you’re at ease.
👕 Clothing & Footwear
- Multiple layers: Tshirts (short + longsleeved), fleece/jumper, waterproof jacket & trousers (the weather is unpredictable).
- Old trousers/leggings: Quickdry, activityfriendly; avoid jeans and shorts most be knee length.
- Underwear & socks: Pack extra, as wet days may mean an extra change
- Nightwear & cosy layers: Pyjamas or sleepwear
- Footwear:
- 2 pairs of trainers— (one old pair for water sports).
- Shoes or sandals for evenings (flipflops not advisable except for showers)
- Swimwear: Two sets advised—one to wear, one drying (2 Plastic bags for storage of wet gear).
Linens & Bedding (Residential)
- Sleeping bag and pillow unless you are getting a bed pack.
- Personal toiletries & towels.
Extras
- Sunscreen (we cannot provide sunscreen due to unknown medical conditions).
- Hat (if sunny).
- If possible – small rucksack, waterproof trousers & walking boots (there is no need to buy walking boots/waterproof trousers, if you have them bring them).
Please note: wetsuits, buoyancy aids & helmets are provided for water-based activities.
