FAQs

What is the event?

Forest of Fear is a Halloween adventure for a variety of ages (under 16’s require a guardian). Our Family Adventure is suitable for 6yrs+ and takes place from 6pm to 7.30pm. Our ‘Scary Event’ is suitable for 12yrs+ and takes place from 7pm to 9pm, Finally our Dead Scary events are suitable for 16yrs+ and take place at both 8pm and 9pm. Pre-booking is required for all events as group numbers are limited. Participants are transported to our forest and get to participate in a number of outdoor adventures.

What should I wear?

Appropriate warm, outdoor clothing should be worn and flat footwear. In parts of the forest it can be muddy so boots or old runners that you don’t mind getting wet/dirty are advised.

Is there parking onsite?

Not at the adventure site, please do not attempt to drive as it is very rough terrain and could damage your vehicle.  Please park in any of the free car parks in Carlingford. Make your way to Carlingford Adventure Centre on Tholsel Street (pedestrian street) and you will be transported from there.

How long do the various events last?

Approximate durations are as follows: Family Adventure – 90mins; Scary Adventure 2hrs, Dead Scary adventure 2hrs. This includes transport & adventure time.

When do bookings close?

Bookings close at 5pm the day before each Forest of Fear event.

What is Included?

Forest of Fear is a Halloween event with various scare levels for different ages / scare levels.  This is an adventure event so participants get a chance to participate in various adventure activities depending on their age.  Transportation to the forest is included.  Activities include laser combat, axe throwing, aerial ziplines (12hrs+ and over 1.4mtrs) and bonfire.

Are there any restrictions to participation?

Minimum age: 6 years for Family event, 12 years for other events. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult. Activities take place outside where participants are required to navigate dark and possibly wet spaces; appropriate outdoor clothing and flat footwear should be worn. Forest of Fear is not suitable for those with photosensitive epilepsy as strobe-lighting is used throughout. Forest of Fear is not recommended for anyone suffering the following: – Heart or blood pressure conditions – Sensitivity to strobe lights / Photo sensitive epilepsy – Limited mobility/mobility issues – Claustrophobia/ nervous disposition / intense fear of the dark It is not recommended that anyone who is pregnant participates in Forest of Fear. Any participants under the influence of alcohol/drugs will not be allowed to participate in this event. Phones, torches and cameras are not permitted during your Forest of Fear experience. Any participants caught using such devices will be expelled from the site without refund. Unfortunately the terrain is not suitable for prams or wheelchairs and participants need to have a basic level of fitness to negotiate the forest trail.

What time is Forest of Fear available?

Forest of Fear Family Event starts at 6pm. Fear of Fear Scary event starts at 7pm and Dead Scary events start at 8pm and 9pm.  Advance Bookings only, please don’t arrive to the Adventure Centre without pre-booking as we hate to disappoint but group sizes are limited. Please don’t be late as once transport has departed you wont be able to access the site.

Why Are There Different Times / Events?

People and particularly different ages of children can cope with varying levels of fear factor so we wanted to cater for as many as possible. The 6pm event will have little or no scares and be more of a fun kids event, with less fitness required. The Scary Event will be more scary and include a more difficult trail walk. Finally the Dead Scary event as the name suggests will be intentionally frightening and is advised for 16yrs+ and those with an appetite for scares and an adrenaline buzz!

Do I need to bring anything?

Yes, please bring your email confirmation and registration number.

What time should I arrive?

Please arrive to the Adventure Centre at least 15mins before your start time.
