Job Summary

Do you love adventure and crunching numbers? Then we have the perfect job for you! As the Accountant Extraordinaire for our large adventure centre, you will be responsible for ensuring that all of our financial transactions are accurately recorded and reported, allowing us to continue providing epic experiences to our customers.

Key Responsibilities

Provide support to our auditors during annual audits and make sure we’re meeting all of our tax obligations

Analyse our financial data to provide insights into how we can improve our performance and save money

Collaborate with other departments to create budgets and forecasts, and track our actual performance against those plans

Prepare monthly accounts for CFO

Prepare and pay weekly payroll

Supervise and train our accounting staff to ensure we’re all working together as a team

About Our Company

Carlingford Adventure Group are the leading adventure centre and adventure family in Ireland, based in one of the most beautiful parts of Ireland, just 1hr from Dublin & Belfast. Family owned for over 30 years we now provide over 40 adventure activities and a 350 bed hostel, with over 100 staff at peak times. We are looking for the right person to sustain our growth and lead us into new adventures.

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • ACCA/ACA qualification would be amazing, but we’ll settle for someone with a passion for adventure and accounting!
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting, ideally in the hospitality or adventure tourism industry
  • Superb analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively to find solutions
  • Proficiency with Xero, Sage payroll and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with others
  • A batteries included attitude, a love of adventure, and a willingness to go above and beyond to help the team succeed

Working Conditions

You’ll be working in our office at the adventure centre, surrounded by fellow adventure enthusiasts. Occasionally, you may need to work weekends or evenings during peak season, but we promise that the excitement of working here will more than make up for it!
