Blog: Top Seven reasons why you should book your School Trip to Carlingford Adventure / Skypark now!
30th March 2021 carlingfordadmin

After such a lengthy period of Covid19 related lockdown, the team here at Carlingford Adventure and Skypark are so excited to hear that we can reopen to those of you in County Louth (or a 20 mile radius from your home) from 26 April. We’ve been working hard behind the scenes to provide exciting new School Adventure day trips and packages (with the focus on ensuring safe & socially distant fun for all) which you and your students will be able to enjoy soon. Like you, we’re really missing outdoor adventures and can’t wait to see you again in beautiful Carlingford hopefully sooner rather than later!

As you start to think about exiting out of lock down, we thought you might appreciate the following SEVEN reasons to book your next outdoor adventure with Carlingford Adventure / Skypark now!

  1. We’re Ireland’s Number one Outdoor Adventure provider – with over 30 years’ experience of putting the safety of our guests and employees first. In 2020 we celebrated 30 years of adventures and we’ve developed and enhanced our safety expertise every year that we’ve operated. You can book with added confidence knowing that we’ve been awarded Failte Ireland’s Covid-19 safety charter for all the extra steps we’ve put in place to practice social distancing and to keep all our guests Covid safe while they are here with us. We follow and, in most cases, exceed all Irish Government Covid19 guidelines. We operate with smaller group sizes, wear face masks whilst inside areas used by our guests, deep clean our equipment and accommodation and have increased the number of hand sanitiser stations situated around our facilities.

  1. Experience ‘Adventure Therapy’ first-hand! Children’s mental health has suffered more than anyone’s over the past few months of ‘home hibernation’. Now more than ever, children need to re-connect and have some fun and develop their skills with their friends in a fun and safe environment that doesn’t include video games or Children need to be allowed to be children again! We strongly believe in the power of getting active outdoors, having fun with your friends and learning new skills. We call it ‘Adventure Therapy’ and we can’t wait to let you and your students experience it while building new memories and friendships together outdoors in 2021!

  1. Carlingford is a convenient and stunning location. We are so lucky to be based in the beautiful village of Carlingford on the Cooley Peninsula, County Louth. We’re easy to get to – Check out this map. We’re just one hour by road from Dublin and Belfast makes us the perfect location for a school day trip or for a longer stay.

  1. We’ve created exciting new school packages to maximise fun and value for money activities across Land, Sea and Sky. The new packages are easier to book, provide more time for doing activities and deliver a vastly enhanced student & teacher experience. There are so many new activities and outdoorsadventures awaiting you and your students. We also can’t wait to show you our brand new ‘Ireland’s Ancient East Maze’ at Skypark as well as our two, brand new laser combat battlefields! Booking is easy, you simply pick your most preferred packages, provide us with one back up option (incase your first choices aren’t available) and we will do the rest. Check out our short ‘How it Works’ video here. If you would like to join us for a day trip, why not keep the fun going by adding evening activities and dinner at Skypark for only an extra €22?

  1. Primary Schools are most welcome to join in the fun too with an even greater range of package options now available. Have you checked out our new Sky Junior Short Day Package? As we are 100% committed to followingGovernment guidelines on social distancing, we have to limit spaces on our adventures and therefore apologise in advance if we are unable to accommodate everyone’s bookings this year. If you have already paid a deposit, you will be given priority over booking dates. However, we sincerely value and appreciate all our amazing customers and therefore wanted to make everyone else aware that there is a lot of demand and dates are booking up fast on a ‘first come first served’ basis for May & June.

  1. Teachers love us! Don’t just take our word for it, here’s some recent customer feedback that we were delighted to receive:

“We’ve been bringing our students back to Carlingford Adventure Centre and Skypark for several years now and can definitely recommend it. We’ve had day trips and longer over-night visits and have been impressed by the friendliness and professionalism of all the staff and instructors (safety and fun are the main considerations). The multiple activities across Land, Sea and Sky offer good value for money and we can’t wait to visit again this year” Seamus McGowanSkerries Community College, Co. Dublin, March 2021.

“We have been using Carlingford Adventure Centre for a good number of years. No request is too small from them to deal with. The booking process is very efficient and communication extremely good. All instructors are skilled and proficient in their interactions with students and encouragement is always given. I would highly recommended Carlingford Adventure for a day trip or an overnight.” Trevor McDonnellSt. Vincent’s Castleknock College, Dublin. March 2021.

“Carlingford Adventure Centre is expertly managed, extremely safe and most importantly a fun place to be! Our P7 girls attend every year for a 4-night residential and I have no hesitation in recommending the centre for your school trip. Every aspect of your stay at Carlingford Adventure will be discussed and monitored, just as you would expect from this professional centre.” Barbara Mawhinney, Strathearn Preparatory Department, Belfast, March 2021.
